Apple Filling Ingredients
- 5-6 Granny Smith apples (peeled and sliced thin)
- 3/4 – 1 Cup apple juice
- 1/3 Cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 Teaspoon salt
Batter Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cups sugar
- 1 1/2 Cups flour
- 4 Teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 Cups milk
- 2 Cubes of butter
Instructions
- Mix all apple filling ingredients together in a large bowl and cook over low heat in a large sauce pan for approximately 20-30 minutes
- In a 13x9x2” (or similar sized dish), melt 2 cubes of butter
- Pour the batter mix into the dish over the melted butter
- Pour apple mix over the batter evenly
- Bake for approximately 1 hour or until golden brown
