Apple Cobbler

Apple Filling Ingredients

  • 5-6 Granny Smith apples (peeled and sliced thin)
  • 3/4 – 1 Cup apple juice
  • 1/3 Cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 Teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 Teaspoon salt

Batter Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 Cups flour
  • 4 Teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 Cups milk
  • 2 Cubes of butter

Instructions

  1. Mix all apple filling ingredients together in a large bowl and cook over low heat in a large sauce pan for approximately 20-30 minutes
  2. In a 13x9x2” (or similar sized dish), melt 2 cubes of butter
  3. Pour the batter mix into the dish over the melted butter
  4. Pour apple mix over the batter evenly
  5. Bake for approximately 1 hour or until golden brown
