Ingredients
- 2 Lbs Sirloin steak
- 1 Medium white onion
- 1 Package au jus mix
- 1/2 Cup orange juice
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 Cup dark soda (regular Pepsi or Dr. Pepper)
- 1/2 Cup beer
- 1/2 Cup Pappy’s Choice Seasoning
Instructions
- Thinly slice the steak lengthwise and place in a large Ziploc bag with orange juice, lemon juice, minced onion, soda, beer, and seasoning. Seal bag, mix, and let marinate for 2/3 hours.
- After marinating, put the au jus seasoning and 4 cups water into a large pan and bring to a simmer.
- Add the meat from the bag (DO NOT include the marinade) and slice onions into 1/4 inch slices and and the rings into the pan.
- Let simmer until meat in tender and onions soft (approximately 30 minutes)
- Ladle liquid from the pan – this is your au jus – into small bowls for dipping
