French Dip Sandwiches

Yield: 4 Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 2 Lbs Sirloin steak
  • 1 Medium white onion
  • 1 Package au jus mix
  • 1/2 Cup orange juice
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 Cup dark soda (regular Pepsi or Dr. Pepper)
  • 1/2 Cup beer
  • 1/2 Cup Pappy’s Choice Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the steak lengthwise and place in a large Ziploc bag with orange juice, lemon juice, minced onion, soda, beer, and seasoning. Seal bag, mix, and let marinate for 2/3 hours.
  2. After marinating, put the au jus seasoning and 4 cups water into a large pan and bring to a simmer.
  3. Add the meat from the bag (DO NOT include the marinade) and slice onions into 1/4 inch slices and and the rings into the pan.
  4. Let simmer until meat in tender and onions soft (approximately 30 minutes)
  5. Ladle liquid from the pan – this is your au jus – into small bowls for dipping

Serve with fries and enjoy!
