My Thoughts From The Tractor Seat – Crazy Thankful

October 26, 2020

I was sitting at the table this morning just enjoying the tranquility, while sipping my morning cup (pot) of java, just looking out the window. The sun was coming up and the day was calm and still, only the birds seemed to be stirring about busy making their morning music.

My old dog was laying dead to the world just soaking up the morning sun oblivious to all the worldly problems and issues we humans seem to be faced with.

I was a little irritated at the thought of what’s happening in the world, and thinking about the causes and effects. Feeling sorry for myself because we can’t visit our favorite restaurant with friends after church once again…

Then I looked down at my coffee cup and it said “crazy thankful” on it.

I began the think about all the things I still had. I still have food, I still have clothes, I still have a place to live, I still have loved ones and family.
While half the world is scared to death… the other half is afraid of losing liberties… and so an already polarized society becomes even more divided.

So I did a little reading and a little thinking and I determined we all just need to read the good book a bit more.

I’m confident enough in my salvation that if I go I go. I could get hit by a bus tomorrow or I could possibly live another 50 years. Who knows?

I just think maybe we all need to draw closer to God.

But with that said we also read that we are to submit ourselves to the laws written to protect us…whether we like it or not. It’s important to remember that lawmakers will be held accountable for our safety and the law’s they enact, they will also answer for any injustices or unnecessary laws they impose.

1 Peter 2: 13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; 14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. 15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. 17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

Romans 12: 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

So with that in mind I finished my coffee and I decided I’d just be crazy thankful for what I have… where I’m at… and all I truly am blessed with and I’ll just try to simmer down and let the good Lord sort it all out later.
