Wagyu Bars

September 30, 2021

In the beef community, there are companies and people who strive to serve a higher purpose using their beef industry platform. From volunteering their time to donating money or products, our ranching community is full of humanitarians. One of the companies giving back in big ways is The Wag Bar.

My Wag Bar was created by ranchers, from Prime Plus Wagyu, who wanted to create a high-quality protein snack. This idea led them to create the Wagyu beef protein bar appropriately titled, “The Wag Bar.”

Their website explains their values, which aligns with their goal to feed the hungry. It states the three core values as:

Community Conscious
We believe everyone deserves healthy food. Prime Plus Wagyu faithfully works to deliver high-quality meat to people in need.
We provide shelf-stable protein to Iron Gate of Tulsa, a nonprofit that feeds the homeless and the hurting.

Partnering on a global scale with Feed My Starving Children, Prim Plus Wagyu hosts MobilePack events and works with our supply chain to provide additional meals.

Health Conscious
We worked for years on the Wagbar recipe until we got a clean beef snack thats as delicious as it is nutritious.

Our beef is 100% American Wagyu and contains absolutely NO antibiotics, nitrates or added hormones.THE WAG BAR has 14 grams of protein but only 90 calories and 2 grams of sugar.

Environmentally Conscious
Prime Plus Wagbar simultaneously cares for cattle and our planet. We handpicked our ranchers because they do things the right way.

Our food is 100% American Wagyu beef from cows born and bred on U.S. ranches.
We work closely with our ranchers to ensure each animal is treated humanely and given proper care. Our cows eat a 100% vegetarian diet.”

Each bar is full of protein, is low carb, shelf stable for 12 months, can be warmed up or eaten straight out of the package, and fits many different diets like Keto and Atkins. While the nutritional profile’s ability to fit many diets is a major plus, it’s the ability to feed people in need that is the most impressive part of the beef protein bars and The Wag Bar.

The company serves two different programs with their philanthropy: Iron Gate and Feed My Starving Children. While each is different from the other, they have the same purpose: giving back to those in the community who are in need. The companies website, mywagbar.com, describes each philanthropic effort:

Iron Gate
“THE WAG BAR delivers shelf-stable protein to homeless.
THE WAG BAR donates cases of meat bars to Iron Gate, a nonprofit organization dedicated to feeding the homeless in Tulsa, Oklahoma, near our main ranch. Meat normally requires refrigeration and has narrow expiration windows, but The WAG BAR is shelf-stable and versatile. Iron Gate can use THE WAG BAR for cooking in the soup kitchen and as a healthy, sustainable part of its pantries.”

Feed My Starving Children
Teaming up to provide even more meals globally.
Through a collaboration with our supply chains and a partnership with Feed My Starving Children, our desire to feed the hungry has a global reach.

For every box of WAG BARS sold we provide a meal. For every retail partner we provide 30 meals. For every annual subscription we provide 40 meals.

In addition to supplying tangible goods, we also serve in the trenches. Helping to promote MobilePack events and recruitment of the community to pack meals for FMSC.

It’s brands such as The Wag Bar that make the beef industry stronger and more exemplary to those outside of agriculture who aren’t sure if they can trust ranchers. It’s important to keep the ranching industry alive, but it’s more important to be sure the industry is giving back.
