We all have problems.
But we can’t just wish our problems away. We have to try to figure out a way to fix those problems.
I remember Lee Roy Hays (my mentor and best friend) use to say “you gotta do something even if it’s wrong! Standing there just a looking at it won’t fix it.”
Whenever I encounter a problem I remember his voice telling me that.
So many things nowadays have the “just walk away” mentality for a fix, and that’s the wrong thing to do. You have to confront your problems head on and try to find a solution to those problems whatever they may be. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
I recently heard a sermon in church that started me thinking about this. It referenced four lepers that were starving in the entrance of a city.
2 Kings 7:3 — Why sit we here until we die?
They had a dilemma. To sit and starve or to go into the city and either be killed. But just maybe, they would be fed and taken care of. They chose
to do something about their situation and in the end they not only saved themselves, but those in that city that were also at risk of starvation. I encourage y’all to read the full text.
My point is, so many folks choose to just sit there and try to wish their problems away by whining and complaining, when their efforts would be better served by doing something — even if it’s wrong! Make an effort to fix your problems! You might be surprised and how well things turn out Sometimes it won’t, but at least you tried. That my friends is the key to success. Putting forth effort.
Farming is so tough right now and things don’t look good, but don’t give up, but rather dig in and push back. It ain’t over yet.. so don’t give up, find a way and make it happen.
I write my thoughts from the tractor seat for my own benefit and I hope they encourage some- one else as well. If you don’t like your world, then change it. Don’t stay stuck where you’re at. Make it a great day. If not for you, then make it great for someone else.
